As a mother of four active young children, I am so happy to have the opportunity to offer much needed childcare services in King George, VA. I have primarily worked in the healthcare field, but have always enjoyed working with infants, toddlers and preschool age children. Originally from Southern Maryland, I am a graduate of George Washington University in DC. I have taken several classes in early childhood education, as well as worked in several childcare facilities in the past. I continue my education in early childhood development annually and really enjoy working in the center. I look forward to watching children grow and prepare for elementary school, while giving them a safe place to be while their parents work.
After graduating from Ohio University in 2006 with my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, I moved to Virginia to pursue my teaching career. I was lucky to be able to teach Kindergarten for 5 years in Westmoreland County before deciding to pursue my dream of opening a child care center. While I enjoyed staying at home with my three young boys for a year, I am so excited to be able to give the King George community a high quality child care center where education and life skills are a priority. I am also a certified foster parent and love all children. I have been a mom to countless children of all genders and ages over the past few years and have a passion for teaching children and loving them as my own.
Barbie has been with us for three years. She has dedicated her life to children. She has years of experience working with children who have special needs and has volunteered as the PTA President at King George Pre School. She has chosen to pursue higher education in Early Childhood Development and has been diligently working on obtaining more training annually. She has an amazing relationship with parents and we are fortunate to have her as our Center Coordinator. She can handle anything and is always available to help where needed.
April has been our Preschool teacher for three years. She has been a preschool teacher for fifteen years. She has previously worked with the Pre-K program for Westmoreland County Public schools and is very active in obtaining continuing education in the field so that she can be the best teacher possible for her students. She loves watching children prepare for Kindergarten and teaches them using a variety of teaching methods depending on their individual learning style. Her students, parents and coworkers all adore her. She is also our back up director if one of us is not present. We are so happy to have had her with us for the past three years and look forward to many more years with her.
