Daily Infant Schedule
The infant schedule is quite flexible. Each infant is allowed to set their own feeding/sleeping routine. Infants will be changed at least every two hours or as needed, unless specified by parents. In addition to feeding, sleeping, & diapering, infants will be stimulated visually and physically with age appropriate toys and books. Infants will be able to use exersaucers, jumpers, swings and play mats. Infants will also get adequate tummy time daily. Weather permitting infants will also have outdoor time daily (stroller walks for young infants and an infant playground for the older infants).
Staff will fill out a daily schedule for each infant telling the parent of everything their child has done that day (ex. Eating times & amounts, diapering, daily activities).
The transition process begins at about 13-14 months of age, depending on your child's development. During this time, when infants begin showing signs of leaving the infant stage and entering the toddler stage, we introduce a new schedule, consistent with the toddler room. Your toddler will begin learning new skills such as sleeping on a cot, drinking from a sippy cup, and using utensils. We practice these skills until they are ready to transition, which is about the 15 month mark. Within this time, your child will begin visiting the toddler room for a couple of hours during the day in a two-week period. Once the child is comfortable in their new surroundings and the child is emotionally, socially, and cognitively ready, the transition will be finalized. Please ask should you have any questions about the transition process.
