Ashley Esmacher
As a mother of four active children in competitive sports, and host mom to multiple foreign exchange students, I am so happy to have the opportunity to offer much needed childcare services in King George, VA. I am currently the Director at our Big Kids Center and truly love it. Virtual learning and the pandemic have been a challenge, but I am so proud of our children, parents and our teachers at both centers. Originally from Southern Maryland, I am a graduate of The George Washington University in Washington, DC. While my Bachelors Degree is in Health Sciences, I have taken all of my elective classes in early childhood education. I recently found my senior portfolio from high school and saw that I wrote I would one day own a daycare center. I am so glad that my dream has become reality. I continue my education in early childhood development annually and really enjoy working in the center. I look forward to watching children and our centers grow.
Katy Hodges
After graduating from Ohio University in 2006 with my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, I moved to Virginia to pursue my teaching career. I was lucky to be able to teach Kindergarten for 5 years in Westmoreland County before deciding to pursue my dream of opening a child care center. After opening the center I went back to teaching full time for King George County and taught 2nd grade for 5 years. I currently teach first grade virtually, and what a change that has been. I have 5 children at home that take up all of my free time with sports and school. In addition, I am a certified foster parent and love to be a safe haven for all children. I have been a mom to countless children of all genders and ages over the past few years and have a passion for teaching children and loving them as my own.
April Newton
April is our Director at our Little Kids Center. Before taking this position in 2020, she was our Preschool teacher for several years. She has been an early childhood educator for the better part two decades. She has previously worked with the Pre-K program for Westmoreland County Public schools and is very active in obtaining continuing education in the field so that she can be the best administrator possible for all of her enrolled children. She loves watching children prepare for Kindergarten and teaches them using a variety of teaching methods depending on their individual learning style. Her students, parents and coworkers all adore her. We are so happy to have had her with us for these past few years and look forward to many more years with her.
